Weight Management

Our Weight Loss Programme focuses on treating the underlying body constitution that results in excess weight. According to the TCM theory, overweight is usually due to the accumulation of dampness evil and phlegm that transform into fat tissues. The condition often results from an insufficient Spleen, and is closely related to the functions of the Liver and Kidney.

Our Approach

At Macpherson TCM, we take an integrated, holistic approach to manage overweight. Our TCM Physicians use Chinese Herbs and Acupuncture to correct the disharmony patterns of the body that results in excess weight. The treatment principle is to expel the excess evils and tonify the internal organs. We take a further step to combine western medical knowledge to identify any underlying illnesses that require more medical intervention, for examples, polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS), hypothyroidism, binge eating, etc. We provide personalised diet advice and / or Therapeutic Tui-na (Chinese form of massage) based on individual needs to achieve more effective and lasting outcome.

In addition, special seeds are sometimes placed on certain points on the ears with small plasters to help suppress appetite and curb craving for high-fat, high-sugar foods.
